Greenville in Philippines’ Banana Market
Look everywhere in the Philippines and you will see bananas in every corner and even in every household. Being non-seasonal, banana has become fruit stands’ top selling fruit. Banana is also the star of several crafted desserts such as saging con hielo and halo-halo. Most Filipinos are normally big snackers and banana still grabs the spotlight of snack time being ever present in our favorite merienda banana cue, turon, and the ever accessible banana chips. With this demand and our heavy export contributions, Philippines is now dubbed as the second largest banana exporter in the world as of February 2019.
Greenville Agro Corporation, being three decades active in the export-import industry in the Philippines, has been a major player in the banana by-products market and banana chips are our greatest contribution. Having three wide-scale plants and plantations in Mindanao since 1986, we are proud that our operations can produce more or less 90 containers a month. With the thriving demand for healthier snacks, Greenville’s production is projected to produce more quality products with the years to come.
How Our Banana Chips are Made
Greenville takes pride of its premium banana chips made only from the best quality local bananas of Saba and Cardava variety. Our banana chips came from green mature bananas which are peeled, washed, sliced, and fried in Coconut Oil. Our banana chips do not contain any artificial additives, making this a healthier snack choice than the common potato chips.
In Greenville, customer choice is of high regard, thus we give you several options. For those who have sweet tooth, we have sweetened and honey-dipped variants. For those who are on the watch of their sugar, we also have unsweetened, salted, and even cinnamon-flavored banana chips. Our chips are also available in whole cuts, halves, quartered, broken , fines, diagonals, and even diced cuts. However as a standard, each chip has a width of 25-30mm in diameter and approximately 4.0mm thick, all packaged in 8 kilos, 11 pounds, 14 pounds, 15 pounds, and 18 pounds.
